Valentine's Day

On this day I am seeing immigration clients who are married to U.S. citizens. If they entered with a visa they may apply to adjust status within the U.S. If they entered without a visa they have to adjust status outside of the U.S. This is because Congress has not reinstated the law known as 245i. Families are required to separate for months prior to receiving their green card. This does not make sense to separate father, mother and children. Congress should allow the payment of the fine of $1,000. Contact your member of Congress on Valentine day and remind them of the importance of families being together. Go to www.aila.org and click on the Contact Congress icon.
