Lobby Day Is a Away--Month

I will travel to Washington on March 27, 2006 as part of AILA's lobby day. If you want to join me on this trip contact me. As reported Senate Majority Leader Frist has pledged to take up the immigration reform debate on March 27, just four days after AILA's Lobby Day in Washington, DC. By passing the Border Security, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005 (H.R. 4437) in December, the House of Representatives paved the way for Congress to enact a potentially devastating enforcement bill that would harm our communities and our economy but would not address the root causes of the dysfunction in our immigration system. Although Congress will be in recess during AILA's Lobby Day on March 23, it will be the ideal time to meet with the key staffers who will be educating their bosses on immigration law and policy when the debate reaches the Senate floor the following week. It is up to us to provide those staffers with the information they need to advise their bosses to support realistic, comprehensive reform!

Don't forget, Lobby Day registration is required, but free. For more information, contact me at (615) 329-4588.
